pastoralSt. Edward Mercy believes that total patient care demands attention to the spiritual, as well as the physical and emotional, needs of patients. Members of the Pastoral Services staff are available every day of the week to assist patients and families as they search for meaning and support during their journey. Spiritual care is available to all patients and family members, regardless of religious preference or beliefs. The department consists of chaplains from multiple Christian traditions who have been professionally trained for hospital ministry.

Chaplains are also available to assist you with completing Advance Directives/Living Wills.

Your religious leader is always welcome to visit you while you are here. A Catholic priest and/or communion ministers are available to administer the Sacraments to Catholic patients.

Please contact a hospital chaplain for information about Mass and other services held in St. Edward Mercy’s chapel. The chapel is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is located on the ground level next to the Gift Shop.

The Pastoral Services office is on the ground floor of the medical center, near Human Resources and close to the staff elevators. You may reach the hospital chaplains by dialing (479) 314-6084. Messages left after 4:30 p.m. will normally be picked up the next business day.

“Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.” (I Thess. 5:11)
