Oncology/Palliative Care Unit (5500)

A twenty-four (24) bed Cancer Care Unit located on the fifth level of the main building, the unit has various support areas such as whirlpool room, a chapel, washer/dryer for family, sitting/family/dining.  All 24 rooms are equipped for cardiac telemetry.  The purpose of the Cancer Care Unit is to provide close monitoring, nursing care, holistic and compassionate care and services to those patients with Oncology diagnoses including care of the terminally ill and Palliative/Hospice respite patients. 

Patient/family education is provided based on the identified needs of the family.  Populations served are adolescents to geriatrics.
