Labor and Delivery

St. Edward Mercy Medical Center takes great pride in being known as the “Baby Hospital”, and the name certainly fits. In 2006, St. Edward Mercy welcomed over 2,400 babies into the world! This volume, and our love for newborns and young families, has led to the addition of two wonderful services to our Labor and Delivery Department: Neonatology and a Dedicated OB Anesthesia Program.

The Labor and Delivery area consists of 30 labor and delivery, recovery, and postpartum suites; 4 observation beds, 4 ante-partum rooms, and 2 cesarean section operating rooms. The entire area is monitored with an infant security system.
