Hospitalists

St. Edward Mercy Medical Center employs a group of physicians specialized in the general medical care of hospitalized patients termed ‘ Hospitalists’. All of our Hospitalists are Board Certified in Internal Medicine and have offices within the hospital.  The Hospitalists work with certain primary care physicians in Fort Smith and some nearby communities to admit and care for their patients who need to be hospitalized.

If you are to be hospitalized, either upon referral from your family physician or through a visit to the Emergency Room, your primary care physician may request that our group of Hospitalists manage your medical care during your hospital stay. All follow-up care will be arranged with your primary care physician.
