AFMC Quality Awards
In May 2006, St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas received
two Quality Improvement Awards from the Arkansas Foundation for Medical
Care (AFMC); the Gold Quality Achievement Award and the Innovator Award.
The Gold Quality Achievement Award is given to facilities that have sustained
a decreased failure rate of at least 20% for six consecutive months on
five (5) Core
Measures indicators. In addition, St. Edward Mercy received
the Innovator Award for Quality Improvement. It is given in recognition
of a facility’s willingness to share innovative and successful quality
improvement strategies and act as a mentor for other facilities. The awards
were presented during AFMC’s 13th annual Quality Conference in Little
Rock, Arkansas.
This is the third straight year that St. Edward Mercy has received recognition
from the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care.
