Two-and-a-half Ton CT to be installed at Hembree Cancer Center

Fort Smith, Ark. – August 17, 2009- St. Edward Mercy is installing a 5500-pound CT machine at approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19 at the Hembree Regional Cancer Center. The media are invited to attend this photo opportunity. No formal program will be offered.

The Phillips Brilliance CT Big Bore is a state-of-the-art computerized tomography (CT) machine that has the capability of scanning patients who weigh up to 650 pounds. The addition of this machine to the Hembree Regional Cancer Center improves patient care by providing the convenience of allowing patients to be scanned at the Cancer Center. Approximately 350 patients will be positively impacted by the addition of this machine.
