Mercy Foundation
Health is personal and individual.
It is an intimate part of who we are. So is charitable giving. A gift to the
Mercy Foundation will touch the lives of people throughout our community not
only today, but for years to come. The Mercy Foundation offers financial
support for the continued growth of the St. Edward Mercy Health System.
Community Support of the Mercy Foundation is the “life force” behind St. Edward
Mercy Health Network, part of the Sisters of Mercy Health System - one of the
finest health care systems in the country.
The St. Edward Mercy Foundation is a
not-for-profit corporation created to enhance the quality of care and services
provided by St. Edward Mercy Medical Center and its satellite facilities in
Paris, Waldron, and Ozark. This objective is accomplished by raising
non-operational revenue from a variety of sources. The Mercy Foundation uses
this revenue for the benefit of the St. Edward Mercy Health Network.
A volunteer Board of
Directors governs the Mercy Foundation. The Board is not only involved in fund
raising, but also investing and transferring funds for identified needs. The
St. Edward Mercy Foundation was first incorporated in 1973 as the St. Edward Development
Corporation. The first president of the newly formed organization was William
R. Walker. With the help of many volunteers, the Mercy Foundation has raised
millions of dollars over the years, for the benefit of the St. Edward Health
Network.
There are several different
opportunities for you to become one of the many individuals who have given to
and supported the work of the Mercy Foundation. In some cases our donors choose
to remember or honor a loved one through the purchase of a brick or tree
located on the campus of the medical center.
