KID ZONE
It’s great to be a kid!
The Kid Zone provides safety, comfort and peace of mind.
The Kid Zone is a clean, secure, fun place where children from 6 months
to 12 years of age can play while their parents or guardians work out. Your
child’s safety and enjoyment is our most important goal. To help
you, your child and other children get the most out of the Kid Zone
experience, here are a few important guidelines.
Length of stay
Children may participate in Kid Zone activities for up to two hours. We find
this is the optimal time before children begin to miss their parents and wish
to be reunited with them. While your child is here, you may access any area
within the fitness center, but we ask that you remain at the facility.

Personal items
All personal items – diapers, cups, bottles, pacifiers, etc. – must
be labeled to prevent cross-sharing and to make them easy for you to find when
you leave. Please do not bring toys of any kind as they could create a safety
hazard for children and staff. Note that we do not supply diapers or wipes and
that we are not responsible for lost or damaged items.
If your child is sick
The Kid Zone is not the place for children who are ill. We ask that you do not
bring a child who
- has a temperature of 101 or higher
- is within the first 24 hours of receiving an antibiotic
- has a persistent cough
- is experiencing vomiting or diarrhea
- has a cold or other contagious condition
The safety and health of all who come here and work here is paramount,
so if we notice that anything in the above list applies to your child,
we ask that you not come back until your child is well and feeling
better.
Food and drink
To avoid mess, please do not bring food to the Kid Zone. Drinks
are fine, as long as they are in spill-proof containers. If you
do send drinks with your child, remember not to place carbonated beverages
in sippy cups – if these containers are shaken or dropped,
the drink may spurt out the top. Our staff will be happy to bottle-feed
your baby, but please don’t bring snacks or teething cookies with
your little one.
Discipline and behavior
Children sometimes act inappropriately, and if this happens, we first ask the
child to stop the behavior. If the behavior persists, we'll direct the child
to a quiet time-out setting and notify his or her parents. Should disruptive
behavior occur regularly, we will speak with the parents and try to resolve the
situation. In unusual cases where this produces no results, we will ask that
parents chose another option for child-care that fits their workout schedule.
Fees
There is no charge for children who are Mercy Fitness members. Children
who are not members pay a fee of $8 per visit.
