MASSAGE THERAPY
Feel better – move better!

If you’re looking for a safe and proven way to experience overall body wellness, you’ve found it with skillful, caring therapeutic massage. Here are just a few of the reasons more and more people are enjoying the benefits of massage.

  • Stress-reduction and relaxation
  • Relief of sore and tight muscles
  • Management of acute and chronic pain
  • Rejuvenation after strenuous sports activity
  • Recovery from sports injuries
  • General health and fitness
  • Improvement of blood circulation
  • Complement to other healthcare treatments

Just tell our licensed massage therapists what you need, and they’ll design your session to address your specific requirements.

What to expect during and after a massage
The massage itself is a relaxing, hands-on procedure that can target any area of the body or the entire body. Typically massage focuses on sore or stiff muscles and joints to increase circulation and blood flow to problem areas, which initiates healing. But many people enjoy a total-body massage simply to invigorate and energize them.

During your massage, you’ll be treated with dignity and respect. At all times while working with your massage therapist, you’ll be modestly covered and comfortable. You’ll never be asked to disrobe to any extent you’re not comfortable with.

It’s normal to experience slight soreness after a massage, because your muscles have just received a lot of work they may not be used to. This discomfort usually disappears after several sessions. To help you recover fast and well, remember to drink plenty of water in the hours after a massage to remove waste products that were mobilized during the procedure.

Our professional staff
Mercy Fitness Center hires only licensed massage therapists who are well-trained and knowledgeable about the latest techniques, modalities and research in the field of therapeutic massage. Each therapist is committed to bringing you a professional, ethical and educational approach to enhance your overall wellness.

Massage therapy session pricing
We offer three different time options for massage therapy.

                                         Members        Non-members
      Half-hour                       $30                  $35
      One hour                       $50                  $55
      Hour and a half            $75                  $80

How long should your massage last? People who want to focus on a specific body area such as the back or neck typically have a 30-minute massage. For total-body massage, an hour is usually just right. If you have multiple areas you want treated, a 90-minute massage is ideal. Your massage therapist will understand your needs and suggest the most beneficial time frame.

Payment is due after each session and can be made at the Member Services desk. For your convenience, you may pay by cash, check or ATM/credit card.

Some insurance policies include physician-prescribed massage therapy in their coverage. Mercy Fitness does not bill insurance carriers, but we will gladly assist you in filling out the correct forms.
